About the Border Collie
Border Collies are medium sized, around 14 to 20 kilos, with a rough or smooth coat most often in black and white but also red, blue merle and tricolour. The eyes are the thing, that fixed herding stare that stops sheep and unsettles visitors. They are widely considered the most trainable dog there is, and the price of that is a brain that needs feeding every day. A Collie with nothing to do will invent a job, and you may not like it. They are sensitive, quick, athletic and closely bonded to their person. Owners joke that the dog is cleverer than they are and already knows where the ball is going. Working farmers simply call them Collies, and a good one is worth more than the quad bike.
