About the Labrador Retriever
Labradors are solid, medium to large dogs, usually somewhere between 25 and 36 kilos, with a short dense coat in black, yellow or chocolate that sheds more than anyone expects. The character is what sells them. A Lab wants to be involved in everything, will carry anything it can fit in its mouth, and treats water as an invitation. Owners joke that the breed is permanently hungry and that a Lab has never once refused food. The tail is a hazard at coffee table height. They are patient with children, easy to train because they want to please, and tend to stay puppyish well into middle age. Most people just call them Labs, and once you have had one it is hard to switch.
