A Shar Pei looks like it has been wearing a coat three sizes too big since birth, and carries the fact with great dignity. Owners get used to the frowning face, the aloof stare at strangers and the quiet devotion at home. Wood Chimps makes personalised gifts for Shar Pei owners. In our small UK workshop we laser cut and engrave clocks, lead holders, keyrings and signs with your dog's name and a Shar Pei silhouette, made to order for your wrinkly companion.
About the Shar Pei
The Shar Pei is a medium sized dog from China, usually 18 to 30kg, with a broad muzzle, small ears and the famous loose wrinkles, heaviest in puppies. The coat is short and bristly, either the very short horse coat or the slightly longer brush coat, in fawn, red, black, cream and blue. The tongue is blue-black, which surprises people. In character they are calm, independent and reserved, often wary of strangers but deeply attached to their own family. Owners notice the quiet confidence and the way a Shar Pei watches a room rather than joining in. People call them hippo-faced or just the wrinkly one, and most Shar Pei owners say they are far more affectionate than their frown suggests.

Questions
How do you personalise the items?
When you order, enter your dog's name and tell us the breed is a Shar Pei. We laser cut or engrave the name and silhouette to order, and the personalisation is included in the price shown.
Which products can I get with a Shar Pei on them?
The clock, the keyring, the Dog Rules for Visitors sign and the Best Seat in the House sign all come in Shar Pei. The lead holder can be made for your breed as well, just tell us at checkout.
Will the silhouette show the wrinkles?
The silhouette is a breed outline rather than a portrait, so it shows the Shar Pei shape, the small ears and the blunt muzzle, with your dog's name alongside. If you want to check it first, ask us at checkout.
